Swaffham is getting a new community garden on The Campingland, next to the church. The garden comes with the backing of the Royal Horticultural Society who will be providing the majority of the funding for it as well as invaluable advise.
The garden is being developed to try and make use of an underused space. The garden is only a short walk from the town centre, so would be a perfect peaceful haven for office workers to come to on their lunch breaks. The garden will contain lots of features that will create a habitat for bees and insects to help to increase numbers of these beautiful and beneficial creatures.
It is hoped several local volunteer groups will be involved in the creation and upkeep of the garden including Master Gardeners, GST, the ESCAPE project and local schools.
See proposed plan below, let us know what you think! If you'd like to get involved then contact Jonathan Reed in the Iceni Partnership Office.
