On Monday 4th February a group of volunteers, along with Mayor Colin Houghton and Rotary president Malcolm Whittley planted the focal trees in the community garden. As well as this, beds were mulched and the official sign, made from laser cut steel, was positioned.
Future work will include creating willow edging for the beds and sowing wild flower seeds. Local groups such as the Garden Science Trust and ESCAPE project will be involved in much of this, but volunteers from anywhere are more than welcome to get involved.
