After lots of set backs with the weather and people being on holiday, we are pleased to say we have finally scheduled dates for the next phase of work to the community garden.
On Thursday October 11th we will be hiring a turf cutter to prepare the ground for our herbal haven bed, the fruitful forest bed and our wildflower annual border. We will then need YOUR help in digging the soil conditioner into these areas ready for planting. We will also working with Swaffham Youthie that evening to construct our Bug Hotel, but all are welcome to come along and take part in this activity. On Friday 12th we will be putting the plug plants into the wildflower area, an ideal opportunity for children of all ages – plus their parents and grandparents – to take part and ensure that the garden is a real community effort. Then on Saturday we will be making the final additions so that the garden can be formally opened including, thanks to the generous donation from the South Pickenham Estate, the tree logs that will form seating for our children’s Story Telling Circle, an integral part of the Garden. We hope that as many of you as possible will join us on one or more of the days so that we can all take pride in another initiative to make the Campingland a more attractive venue for all ages.
